Hey everyone! Through the Inventables forum and the unofficial FaceBook Groups a number of people who have installed the new Z Axis Upgrade have had their machine slam the bit into their workpiece. This video covers the WHY and WHAT TO DO to avoid this issue when you install your X-Carve Upgrades.
If you've ever had your Grbl Settings changed on any machine, you need to check out this video and make sure you make the correct selections during the Machine Setup. This means that if you do not have a Bone-Stock X-Carve, then Selecting "Other Grbl" will preserve your grbl settings, BUT if you select the default X-Carve machine type, then your GRBL settings will be reset to X-Carve factory defaults.
This issue plagues desktop CNC users who often select the wrong machine type. If you have a SainSmart 3018, Genmitsu 4030xl, Fox Alien 4040-XE, WorkBee, QueenBee, Longmill, Shapeoko, or any other CNC that you are controlling through Easel, you MUST select "Other Grbl Machine" when performing the machine setup
